# Job Description
This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of various company benefit plans and programs, with major emphasis on Health (Medical, Dental, FSA Vision) for active employees and retirees.
In addition, this position researches, analyzes and assists in the planning, development, design, modification and implementation of benefit plans/programs to meet company objectives. This position is also responsible for handling customer service needs ranging from straightforward to moderately complex.
Supports the implementation and execution of benefits strategies. Administers benefits programs in compliance with federal and state laws, particularly DOL and IRS compliance.
Advises on and resolves employee customer service issues related to benefit claims, eligibility and plan interpretation.
Assists with reviews and revisions to summary plan descriptions and other government-required documents to ensure accurate benefit plan communications and compliance (SPDs, 5500's, discrimination testing, etc).
Researches, analyzes and evaluates benefit plans and programs. Monitors benefit trends and legislated requirements and developments. Identifies possible issues or impacts to internal plans and programs and makes recommendations to keep our offerings cost effective, competitive and compliant. Analyzes and reports benefits plan data, identifies needs/issues and recommends changes/improvements.
Serves as primary liaison for plan vendors and third party administrators. Collaborates on coordination of transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Investigates discrepancies and provides information in non-routine situations.
Develops communications to support programs and initiatives. Supports ongoing communications/marketing and documentation needs.
Performs various financial management and budgeting activities. Works on projects and special assignments as needed.
# Job Requirements
3-5 years relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of Health and Welfare programs.
Ability to analyze data and develop action plans.
Strong knowledge of healt and welfare benefits administration and plan design with an aptitude for the technical aspects of administering benefits for a multi-location company.
Strong working knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125)
Strong PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, e-mail and internal software.
