SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for obtaining, verifying demographics and financial information to determine patients source of payment to secure reimbursement of services..
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the American Disability Act
(ADA).
? Performs intake and verification of patient demographic information and pre-authorization, as required.
? Determine eligibility for sliding fee adjustment and entitlement programs.
? Research the status of all unpaid bills and implement a collection process to resolve non-payment balances at the time of the visit.
? Schedules walk-in patients, with Practice Management System by coordinating with the departments.
? Informs patient of all their fiscal responsibilities and answer patients questions related to the payment process.
QUALIFICATIONS
? High School diploma/Business Institutional Certification or three (3) years relevant experience with practice Management Systems.
? Knowledge of billing and collection procedures in a medical setting.
? Ability to prioritize and handling multiple tasks.
? Excellent Interpersonal skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
